SIBS MS Science Teaching Position - An Integrated Approach
General Role of Candidate:
The candidate must have an in-depth understanding of integrated science in middle school and early high school classes. This candidate should understand NGSS and be able to create meaningful, engaging learning activities that allow students to explore the natural world.
Develop and implement effective learning programs
Establish learning objectives and goals clearly
Utilize differentiation strategies to meet the needs of all learners
Prepare lesson materials, homework, assignments, etc.
Assist in organizing and maintaining school supplies and facilities
Develop classroom standards to maintain student discipline and behavior based upon Responsive Classroom principles
Collaborate with grade level and or science department for planning
Create and administer subject specific formative and summative assessments
Administer standardized, school-wide assessments and participate in collaborative data analysis efforts (MAP)
Evaluate student performance regularly and prepare report cards
Communicate regularly with parents on student performance
Provide technical guidance and materials to substitute teachers
Perform school administrative activities as and when needed
Assist in general supervision of students inside and outside the classroom.
Work with colleagues to identify and address student health, behavioral, and learning issues
Conduct classes as per the designated schedule
Attend supervision as scheduled and be active and visible
Coordinate regular communication with parents regarding their children’s performance.
Take strict note of attendance, student uniform policy, tardiness, or behavioral concerns in ManageBac system
Participate in the staff evaluation process, which includes self-reflection and administrative observations
Commit to Individual Professional Growth Plan that is linked to staff evaluation plan
