Mathematics/Science Teacher

ISM is looking for an experienced Mathematics/Science Teacher.
Ideally the candidate would possess the ability to teach Mathematics and Science in Middle and High School. The exact allocation of subjects and courses is yet to be determined.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
A teaching qualification (Middle and High School)
Experience of IB MYP and DP is an advantage

Two years teaching experience
Fluency in English to a native level
Strong collaboration skills and the willingness to develop professionally, be flexible and have a growth mindset
Demonstrated high levels of involvement with students and colleagues beyond the classroom
Prior experience in an international setting is an asset

To adapt teaching to meet all students needs and be technologically adept
To be committed to providing constructive feedback and ideas for the improvement of student learning in the school
To actively support and promote the school’s philosophy, mission, and goals
To cooperatively work with fellow-staff members and administrators in curriculum design, assessment and implementation as it pertains to specific grade levels and programs
To assist fellow teachers and administrators in planning for school growth and the maintenance of excellence
To attend meetings and professional development activities as assigned or recommended
Commitment to individual inquiry and personal professional development in support of the ISM Mission that ‘At ISM, we are all learners’
To differentiate for the additional needs of language learners, including a commitment to improvement and use of ELL in the mainstream strategies
To be proficient in inquiry-based instruction for example, genius hour, maker space
To be a proactive leader in the assigned classroom and for the school as a whole

This position description is designed to outline primary duties, qualifications and job scope, but not limit the employee or ISM to only the responsibilities identified.

School Benefits:
An initial 2 year contract is offered with the option to become unlimited
Starting salary based on experience and qualification
Assistance with securing accommodation and registering for utilities (costs covered by staff member)
Assistance registering with local authorities
Employee flight to Germany is purchased by the school
Moving allowance of 600 Euro to be either taken as a lump sum or reimbursed upon submission of receipts
Medical coverage provided within Germany and assistance in finding appropriate doctors or practitioners is provided
Dental coverage is provided within Germany and assistance in finding appropriate dentists is provided
School mentor program to help new staff to become accustomed to Germany and ISM
