KISJ is looking for a well-rounded Middle School leader who loves everything Middle School; an educator who is passionate, creative, and inspires faculty and students to be their best everyday. The Middle School Associate Principal oversees student support, discipline, faculty support, facilities and contributes regularly to various publications. The MS Associate Principal collaborates closely with the Middle School Principal, leaders of other divisions and middle level leaders alike. KISJ Middle School is a lively place, unique in its focus on Social and Emotional Learning and its use of Advisory Groups, Restorative Practices and the use of TCRWP.
Top candidates will inspire teachers and students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and openly communicate. The ideal candidate holds a Master Degree in Educational Leadership or is currently working toward completion and certification. Preference will be given to leaders with experience in Cognitive Coaching, Adaptive Schools and The Principals’ Training Center. Candidates will have experience in restorative practices to discipline, UbD curriculum development and standards based assessment. Outstanding oral and written communication skills are essential. A background in supporting the needs of an ELL population is desired.
