Elementary Learning Support Teacher

Required for August 2020

NIST is looking for an appropriately qualified, effective and connected learning support teacher. The successful candidate will join our dynamic, high functioning and collaborative elementary learning support team, providing support in elementary classes.

Qualifications & Experience
- Teaching qualification (B.Ed. or M.Ed. is a requirement in Thailand to obtain a teaching license)
- Learning support/special needs qualification and elementary learning support experience (essential)
- International teaching experience (desirable)
- IB PYP experience (desirable)

- Take on a variety of roles, including teacher, co-teacher, student advocate, facilitator and coach
- Demonstrate an understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
- Participate, in a team approach, with other support services such as counsellors, EAL, SLT and OT
- Collaborate and plan within year level teams and homeroom teaching teams, and with single-subject teachers
- Develop and implement of individualized learning plans in collaboration with colleagues
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills and good time management
- Build strong home-school partnerships and facilitate parent meetings
- Convey a strong sense of credibility, clarity and efficacy to inspire others
- Assess, communicate and report progress to parents, teachers and students
- Utilize and review teaching strategies as necessary in line with the school’s curriculum and its mission, vision and values
- Contribute expertise to the development of conceptually driven curriculum units
- Take part in school-based professional development, in-service days and activities
- Participate in professional reading and external professional development to extend knowledge and understanding in order to develop own practice and that of colleagues
- Demonstrate commitment to collaborative planning and teaching
- Engage in professional collaboration with colleagues across the school
- Demonstrate leadership and build capacity in areas of expertise
- Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities programme
- Complete school duties as defined by the school's leadership for the designated role
- Perform duties in accordance with the NIST Child Safeguarding Code of Conduct and NIST Professional Code of Conduct
