Early Childhood (Kindergarten)

The International School (TIS) of Macao is a pre-kindergarten to grade 12 school, where our mission is to develop socially responsible, lifelong learners able to problem solve, think critically and make positive changes in our global community. We are accredited by the Education Ministry of Alberta, Canada and our graduates receive a high school diploma that is recognized by universities around the world. At TIS Macao, we offer the Alberta curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program for our high school students as a program of choice. Today, TIS Macao has an enrolment of 1,400 students representing 40 different countries and offers a world class education as one of the top performing Alberta-accredited international schools.

We are seeking innovative and collaborative kindergarten teachers who are committed to preparing our students for the future by cultivating skills and attitudes that enable lifelong learning and caring for the community.

Duties:

Provide a dynamic program to PreKindergarten (3 year old) & Junior Kindergarten (4 year old) students
Collaborate with the grade level team to develop common lessons and units
Team teach and plan with the co teacher and Mandarin teacher
Work with all staff in promoting lifelong learning to students in the school
Participate in student, school and community extracurricular activities

The successful candidate must possess a minimum of an Early Childhood Degree and previous kindergarten or nursery teaching experience. Knowledge of and experience with inquiry-based learning is a prerequisite. A background in project planning and an understanding of Reggio Emilia practice is beneficial. Experience with an emergent curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices is also an asset.

All new staff are required to be certified in first aid. There is a generous compensation package commensurate with qualifications and experience, as well as medical, dental and living allowance benefits.
