ASIJ is recruiting an experienced counselor to join its high school counseling team. Candidates should be energetic, outgoing, student-centered and willing to invest in the development of a dynamic, student-centered program that matches ASIJ's Commitment, Mission, and Core Values. Candidates must have previous experience in a similar counseling role. Adolescence is a time of growth. Teens face unique and diverse challenges, including personal, social, cultural and developmental. These challenges can have an impact on a student’s well being and therefore their ability to perform academically. Students can benefit from the support of a trained professional. In collaboration with the three college counselors, school leaders, Dean of Student Life, and faculty, the two Personal and Academic Counselors assume overall responsibility for supporting Grade 9-12 students as they face these challenges and develop a wide array of social-emotional competencies.
Please note that ASIJ is continually reviewing applications and interviewing candidates. We reserve the right to make appointments when we feel we have identified the right candidate. Therefore, we encourage teachers to submit applications at their earliest convenience and not to wait till the closing date we have indicated for a position.
