The role of a Primary School Music Teacher calls for an adaptable and inspiring Music Teacher who is a skilled educator that strives to motivate their students to fulfil their potential. This full-time position involves teaching Music to Primary students as part of the IBPYP curriculum. This transdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning demands that all teachers work in close collaboration to plan for ensuring there is integration with the grade level Units of Inquiry.
The Primary Music Teacher must be able to provide professional expertise, offer high quality teaching and learning experiences, and make effective use of all resources to ensure improved standards of achievement for all learners in the area of music. The ability to work collaboratively to align the school-wide music curriculum, plan for musical school events, including our annual Winter, and Spring concerts, and to work to cultivate a strong home-school relationship are also crucial. The Primary Music teacher should demonstrate strong piano/guitar/vocal skills and be confident in leading a Primary choir / orchestra.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A Bachelors or Master´s degree in Primary Music Education with a valid teaching certification.
A minimum of three years teaching experience.
Demonstrate a genuine passion for music, energy, and love for teaching children.
Experience teaching in a multilingual learning environment.
English language skills on a native speaker level.
Prior IB PYP training and teaching experience.
A minimum two-year commitment to this position.
Additional qualifications in Music teaching.
Experience in using technology to enrich student learning.
Prior experience in coordinating / leading extra curricular music lessons and clubs.
