Primary School - Early Support Teacher

To support our Primary School team, we are currently looking for an adaptable and inspiring Early Support Teacher starting August 2020.

BMS is the oldest international school in the center of Berlin. 1000 students from 55 countries attend our school and are taught using the best international and national curriculum programs. Provide small group support in planning instruction and/or adaptation of the instructional program using the Response to Intervention (RTI) model to facilitate student learning.
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
Document interventions and progress on each child.
Assess children throughout the school and identify children at risk.
Share best practices in differentiation to support learning and teaching in classrooms.
Participate in writing Individual Learning Plans for students through contributing necessary data, observations and recommendations based upon your knowledge of the student.
Design and implement academic interventions using research-based methodology.
Contribute to documentation that guides parents and teachers in their understanding of the program and its implementation.
Communicate with school personnel and parents of children regarding reading and/or mathematics level and rate of progress.
Attend regular LS meetings, Grade Level planning meetings and collaborate closely with teachers in your Grade Level Band.
Maintain an organized and transparent schedule for your Grade Level Band team and regularly update this.
Meet regularly with the Learning Support Coordinator to share lesson notes, learning progress of your group and review data collated.

A Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Primary Education.
A minimum of three years teaching experience.
Experience with using the Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Program and Bridges intervention for mathematics.
Learning Support qualifications and experience advantageous.
PYP experience advantageous.
