General Responsibilities
The PYP Homeroom teacher is responsible for teaching and developing students’ skills, knowledge and understanding, utilizing the approved curriculum of the IB Primary Years Programme.
The PYP Homeroom teacher will have excellent classroom management skills and expertise in coaching students using positive behavior strategies so that they can be the best that they can be, socially and academically.
The PYP Homeroom teacher will carry out his/her teaching duties as outlined in the Teaching & Learning Handbooks and have high expectations of students. They will use their teaching skills to overcome any language challenges that students may have.
The school’s approach to primary education is through transdisciplinary inquiry. We would be delighted to talk with teachers who understand how to build language skills across the curriculum, integrate technology to enhance learning and are able to effectively differentiate for a range of learners. They will have excellent understanding of how to differentiate the curriculum for students with learning needs and for gifted students.
Successful candidates for these positions will be collaborative team members who value kindness and who build strong relationships with staff, students and parents. They need to be agile professionals who can thrive in a fast paced environment.

Homeroom teachers will have skill and agility to provide learning through play and hands-on projects, coupled with ensuring academic rigor.
There is an expectation that candidates will be self-reflecting learners who are willing to help themselves and our school to continuously improve by moving forward.
He/She would also be a part of the largest school in the Qatar Foundation family with over 1860 students, organized into Primary and Senior School divisions, with 3 Early Education Centers for children as young as 14 months of age. QAD Primary School has 1065 students.
Attributes & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in education-related field or relevant subject matter.
• Minimum 2 years teaching experience teaching in relevant grade level or the relevant subject matter.
• International Baccalaureate PYP experience preferred.
• Enthusiastic practitioners who are excited by growth and innovation

• Understand that all teachers are teachers of language and different learning needs
Visa Requirements:
• Teaching Certification / Bachelor’s Degree (must be a face to face qualification - online qualifications are not recognised by Qatar);
• Teaching couples must be married as per Qatari work visa requirements;
• Clear criminal record and background check; Clear medical history for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Tuberculosis.
