Our Mission: At Sias International School Zhengdong New District, Zhengzhou, East meets West to educate and inspire students to be well balanced with a strong mind, body, and spirit, prepared for academic excellence and innovative leadership in an ever-advancing, interconnected and technological world.

There is a beautiful dance between East meets West. Chinese education places a high value on the moral, intellectual, and physical development of students. At the same time, it recognizes the importance of developing skills for thinking, learning, creativity, sports, and athletics. These aims will complement the progressive teaching and learning methods of the most accomplished school systems in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. With a balance of traditional and innovative approaches for student learning, our teachers will prepare and inspire well-balanced, free-thinking innovators challenging for a better tomorrow.

We are working closely with ISS to create the first-ever truly international school in Henan Province. The international-passport children who will attend Sias International School will be engaged in an inquiry-based curriculum enriched by the Leader-in -Me philosophy and practices. The learning spaces across the expansive campus will be completely flexible to suit the spectrum of day-by-day, class-by-class requirements for students' learning activities. Our student boarding facilities are planned for the school year 2021-22.

Sias International School experienced a successful start to its first year, and we are ready for the next stage in our development. In August 2020, we expect approximately 100 students, with our highest population enrolling in elementary school, and we are preparing to grow our middle school.

Visa Requirements
Minimum Qualification Level
Bachelor of Education from accredited university (or equivalent) with associated teacher certification/licence from state/provincial/national government and/or professional teacher college.
School Benefits
Number of Contract Days
The normal school year = 190 working days as scheduled by the school, not including school-designated and national holidays. Newly hired teachers will have an additional 5 orientation days at the start of their first year.
Taxes
Local Chinese income tax on the employee's salary will be paid by the school on behalf of the employee. The employee will be responsible for income and other taxes assessed by their home country.
Savings Potential
Since the basics of living in China are covered, teachers should be able to save at least 60-70 percent of their salary.
Accommodation
Single teacher: 5000RMB/month;
Single teacher + 1dep: 6000RMB/month;
Teaching couple: 7000RMB/month
Teaching Couple w/ Resident 1 dep: 7500RMB/month;
Teaching Couple+2 or more dep: 8000RMB/month;

Utilities allowance: 850 RMB/month; (Note: internet & cable TV usually included in lease)
Retirement
The school will pay on a monthly basis, along with the monthly salary deposit to a bank of the employee's choice, an amount equal to 5% of his/her annual salary.
Flights/Transport
Employee: USD 3,000/year
Resident Dependent over 12: USD 2,500/year
Resident Dependent under 12: USD 1,600/year
(max 3 dependents)

This allowance is paid in RMB equivalent to the USD amounts stated.
An official tax receipt ('fapiao')must be submitted.
Moving Allowance
US$1500.00 incoming per employee; US$500.00 incoming per dependent;
US$1500.00 outgoing per employee; US$500.00 outgoing per dependent.


Note: outgoing shipping allowance after successful completion of contract. Up to one half of the incoming allowance can be deferred to the outbound shipment.

In addition, RMB equivalent of USD500 will be deposited into employee's Bank of China account for settling-in expenses.
Dependent Opportunities
The school covers 100% of tuition fees for up to 2 resident dependent children at Sias International School. Arrangements can be discussed with Head of School if there are more than 2 resident children.
Medical
100% paid by SIS for Worldwide International plan.
For USA Citizens: 65%/35% shared by SIS and Employee for additional charges of US elective medical insurance premium if chosen by Employee;
Disability
The school provides the employee with a life insurance and disability plan. 100% of the premium costs for this insurance is paid by the school.
Other
The school pays 100% of the premium cost for an employee life insurance plan.
