School Benefits
Retirement
Léman’s 401(k) Savings Plan is designed to make it easier for you to save for retirement. All employees (except interns, substitutes, summer employees and certain coaches)
at least 21 or older are eligible. You may enroll anytime after the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
You may elect to contribute a percentage or flat amount, up to 100% of your salary, on any combination of pretax or post-tax (Roth) basis per pay period. The IRS sets limits
each year as to the maximum contribution and catch-up amounts. Although you may
elect to contribute either pretax or post-tax, or a combination, your total contribution
may not exceed the annual IRS limit listed below.
In the spring, Léman typically makes a matching contribution of 50% of the first 6% of
salary you contributed in the prior calendar year. Léman contributions are vested based on years of service. You are always 100% vested in your contributions.
Within the 401(k), you can choose to invest in a variety of funds based on your personal risk tolerance.
Dependent Opportunities
One of Léman Manhattan's goals is to foster a strong sense of community across the student and parent body. It is in this spirit that we are excited to continue to offer our Employee Tuition Partnership Program and Employee Admissions Preference for employees interested in enrolling their children at Léman!

Léman’s tuition benefit is one of the most generous across all independent schools and has been made a priority to help employees provide a Léman education for their child and promote a family-friendly workplace.

Medical
You can choose from two plans – the PPO Plan or the Consumer Driven Health Plan
(CDHP) with Health Savings Account (HSA).
Dental
Léman offers two dental insurance plans through Aetna to all benefit-eligible employees and their dependents.
Both use Aetna’s PPOII network. This is a Preferred Dental Provider organization, which means you may visit any provider you choose, but the plan will pay a greater benefit when you stay within the network.
Disability
If you suffer from an illness or injury that prevents you from working, Léman provides financial protection through our disability benefits program.
We offer short-term and long-term disability coverage, at no cost to you, to help provide financial security for you and your family in the event you become sick or injured and are unable to work. Full-time regular employees will be automatically enrolled in these programs at no cost.
