International School of Aruba (An ISS-Governed School)

The International School of Aruba is a non-profit, co-educational, English language school owned and operated by ISS. It was founded in 1929 and was previously owned by Lago Oil and Transport Co. Ltd. From 1986 on, the school was governed by the ISA community and parent body. ISA was acquired by ISS in 2004. In 2005, a new campus was constructed, and ISA was relocated to the center of the island of Aruba.

The school is a U.S. State Department assisted school. ISA has approximately 200 students from Montessori (18 months old) through grade 12. The student body represents 22 countries. The average class size is 16. There are 30 faculty members of diverse nationalities. Seventy percent of the teaching staff has master's degrees. The Head of School is US trained and certified, with both U.S. and International experience. The school is growing in scope and is home to teachers and students inspired to be a part of a vibrant learning community.

Visa Requirements
Minimum Qualification Level
ISA has "University Status" for the work permit process. Teachers must be credentialed and demonstrate experience with the curriculum to obtain the work permit.

Accommodation
A housing allowance of 600 afl is provided to off island hires.
Retirement
All employees participate in our mandatory pension plan.
Bonus
Teachers qualify for a reenlistment bonus at the end of their first contract.
Flights/Transport
Flights at the beginning and end of the completed contract are provided to the teacher and the dependents. Additional flights are earned when the contract is extended.
Moving Allowance
A one time allocation of 3000 afl is provided at the beginning and end of the contract.
Dependent Opportunities
Tuition for three children is included for a full time teacher. The teacher is liable for taxes.
Medical
International off island medical coverage (80%) is provided to off island hires. Dependents are included in the policy. The local full medical coverage (AZV) is provided.
Dental
The school provides the on island vision and dental insurance.
