Job Description:


Primary Chinese Teaching Fellow

The Primary Chinese Teaching Fellow will teach and co-teach under the supervision of experienced teachers and Heads of Chinese Programme, use current knowledge to contribute to projects such as school curriculum development as well as be involved in camps, trips and after school activities. This position reports to the relevant Head of Chinese Programme.

Responsibilities include:
Teach small groups of students with the guidance of a mentor teacher and under the supervision of a Head of Chinese Programme;
Co-teach with mentor teacher(s) to address students’ specific learning needs;
Use theoretical knowledge and expertise to contribute to curriculum development projects;
Participate in camps and school trips;
Fulfil additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Primary.

Standards and Quality Assurance:
Support the School Mission Statement and Students’ Rights and Responsibilities;
Meet requirements of CIS Teacher Job Descriptions and Professional Standards as listed in the CIS Staff Handbook;
Organise time/tasks and work with mentors and supervisors to set reasonable time allocations for task completion;
Be punctual and proactive;
Attend team and staff meetings as required;
Be confidential with respect to individual children’s needs;
Display flexibility and enthusiasm.

Hours/Breaks:
The Teaching Fellows follow the same working hours/breaks as that of teachers, except that the Teaching Fellows work five additional days before school starts and/or after school finishes.

Secondary Chinese Teacher
Native Putonghua speaker with strong English communication skills. Degree in Chinese Language and Literature or related field, and capable of teaching Chinese as a First and Second Language and be able to adapt to working within a boarding school setting. Experience in the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Middle Years Programs is an advantage. This role is for our Hangzhou Campus.
