  • Description The BMS pay scale as one essential part in value the work of every member of faculty was re-worked with a committee by teachers from all section and senior leaders in 2014. The BMS pay scale is structured according to years of experience and the program each respective teacher is teaching. BMS created a pay scale and benefit structure which fulfills following criteria: • A transparent pay scale which is based on the taught programs in the different departments. • A pay scale structure which values the years of experiences of each staff member in his/her profession without any cap at the stage of entrance. • A system for a continuous growth of responsibilities mapped out according to the years of experiences as well as a tailored support program for teachers with less practical experiences. • A regular adjustment of the pay scale according to the inflation rate in Germany. • Many opportunities for further career steps. • Support for individual professional and personal growth Placement information - The pay scale offers 6 (1-6) vertical steps according to the years of experiences. - The calculation of experience starts with the completion of a teaching qualification or certification from the county of origin, or country of training. Only experience within the field of teaching will be calculated. - A year of teaching experience is counted after having completed the entire year of teaching. At BMS, years of experience will be calculated per completion of one academic year. - Years of maternity leave or sabbatical are not counted as years of experiences. - Teachers who work across the sections of the school will be placed on the pay scale of the section in which the majority of teaching is taking place.

  • Description Individuals who are resident in Germany or have their normal place of abode there have full income tax liability. The gross salary (and, if applied, also tuition remission for children attending the school) is subject to German income tax. Once you have registered at the town hall, you will receive your tax identity number and classified into a tax group (I-V). The tax rates depend on family status and income level and range. To support our Secondary team, we are looking for an adaptable and inspiring Head of Learning Support.

THE EXCITING CHALLENGE
Manage Learning Support (LS) teachers and English as Additional Learning (EAL) teachers. Duties include timetabling of support; professional support; monitoring the Learning Support Department’s progress and development.
Identify and share best process within the Learning Support Department.
Manage Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), liaising with parents, teachers and students to regularly review and update ILPs.
Support teaching staff in developing differentiated curricular and instruction to accommodate the individual needs of students.
Implement relevant Learning Support programmes, regarding literacy and numeracy development.
For particular focus students, provide one-to-one and/or group support.
In collaboration with the Leadership Team, IGCSE and IB coordinators, manage the documentation and implementation of the Examination Access Arrangements for the 7th – 12th graders.
Evaluate the evidence for Exam Access Arrangements and decide on the appropriate accommodations.
Administer the relevant psychometric and non-psychometric assessments as a part of the referral process.
Generate assessment reports to support external referrals and in class accommodations.
Meet with the Admissions Team to discuss the admissions process when students present with specific learning needs
Develop and maintain contact with external specialists.
Provide professional development to staff on topics relevant to Learning Support.

YOUR QUALITIES
Committed, experienced and well-qualified team leader, who seeks opportunities to extend expertise and looks for improvement to provide a high quality teaching standard.
Master’s Degree, or higher, preferably in educational administration or special education.
Experience in a leading position and in coordinating or providing oversight of Learning Support Services programs and processes.
Experience in the administration and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and also preferably in German.
Cross-cultural experience/understanding.
Strong team facilitation and problem solving skills.
