Starting Salary Range
The BMS pay scale as one essential part in value the work of every member of faculty was re-worked with a committee by teachers from all section and senior leaders in 2014.
The BMS pay scale is structured according to years of experience and the program each respective teacher is teaching.
Taxes
Individuals who are resident in Germany or have their normal place of abode there have full income tax liability. The gross salary (and, if applied, also tuition remission for children attending the school) is subject to German income tax. Once you have registered at the town hall, you will receive your tax identity number and classified into a tax group (I-V). The tax rates depend on family status and income level and range. Tax on income from employed work is retained by being deducted at source, i.e. an amount of tax is retained directly by the employer.

Accommodation
BMS offers a housing search service for all staff members who have t o relocate to Berlin.
Flights/Transport
Our transition package includes expenses for travel as well as shipping.
These benefits are valid one way and one time. Expenses for other family members cannot be covered.
Furniture
Furnished flats for rent are available also on flat search websites.
Moving Allowance
BMS will pay a settling in allowance one time fix to every new staff member who is not living in Berlin and need to relocate. Employees are allowed to use this for any private reason linked to their relocation. It is required to be treated like extra income which means it will be taxed.
Dependent Opportunities
Staff members are asked to pay the monthly lunch fee of 70€ for their children. From all other school fees they are exempted. As this counts as a remuneration in kind all staff members have to pay taxes on the school fees.
Medical
Medical insurances can be chosen from a variety of public providers. We have a good contact to one provider who have English speaking staff and a great support team for international staff.

YOUR PROFILE
A committed, experienced and well-qualified Science Teacher, who is seeking an opportunity to extend their expertise and who is interested in working in a high quality teaching environment.
A Bachelors or Master´s degree in Education with an official teaching certification in Science (Chemistry, Physics and Biology) for Secondary Education.
Ideally, already experience in IGCSE Science and IB Chemistry.
English native-level speaker fluency.

IT System Manager (MIS)

To support our IT department in managing and maintaining the smooth operation of the school information system and all related systems and processes, we are looking for an IT System Manager (MIS) in full-time.

Your role:
Managing and maintaining the School Information System (iSAMS) and integrated 3rd party systems (e.g. ManageBac)
Providing guidance and participation in the development of 3rd party integrations, especially Office 365 for education
Preparing and managing academic year start and end processes, assisting the setup and maintenance of School Timetable in iSAMS
Setup and maintaining new iSAMS modules
Managing user accounts, monitoring user access and security
Providing support and training to system users
Assisting with reporting processes, providing data reports
Support other IT related activity as necessary

What we are looking for:
In-depth knowledge and successful track record of working with a school management system (or comparable)
Computer technical skills using Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint other related programs and software for educational and business office use
Hold excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to aid in daily contact with a diverse range of stakeholders
Ability to work flexible and under pressure at busy times
Strong problem-solving ability and ability to foresee and prioritize upcoming challenges
Excellent team player to promote team goals and dynamic spirit
Excellent English language skills, German language skills desirable
An understanding of Primary and Secondary educational organization desirable

PYP Music Teacher (maternity cover)

The role of a Primary School Music Teacher calls for an adaptable and inspiring Music Teacher who is a skilled educator that strives to motivate their students to fulfil their potential. This full-time position involves teaching Music to Primary students as part of the IBPYP curriculum. This transdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning demands that all teachers work in close collaboration to plan for ensuring there is integration with the grade level Units of Inquiry.

The Primary Music Teacher must be able to provide professional expertise, offer high quality teaching and learning experiences, and make effective use of all resources to ensure improved standards of achievement for all learners in the area of music. The ability to work collaboratively to align the school-wide music curriculum, plan for musical school events, including our annual Winter, and Spring concerts, and to work to cultivate a strong home-school relationship are also crucial. The Primary Music teacher should demonstrate strong piano/guitar/vocal skills and be confident in leading a Primary choir / orchestra.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A Bachelors or Master´s degree in Primary Music Education with a valid teaching certification.
A minimum of three years teaching experience.
Demonstrate a genuine passion for music, energy, and love for teaching children.
Experience teaching in a multilingual learning environment.
English language skills on a native speaker level.

DESIRABLE:
Prior IB PYP training and teaching experience.
A minimum two-year commitment to this position.
Additional qualifications in Music teaching.
Experience in using technology to enrich student learning.
Prior experience in coordinating / leading extra curricular music lessons and clubs.
