School Benefits
Competitive tax free salary. No taxes are assessed by Kuwait. Employees are responsible for all tax liability and regulations of their home country.
Furnished accommodations: allocation based upon family size and availability, AUS provides utilities and transportation to and from work. No housing allowance will be allocated to an employee where the spouse or significant other receives accommodations as part of their benefits (in other words if you are living with a spouse and their job provides no cost housing – you will not receive this benefit from AUS). Non-refundable refurbishment fee of 100 KD.
Service Indemnity: It is a one-time payment processed at the end of service, equivalent to 15 days of pay for the first 5 years, and one month’s salary for each additional year.
Initial mobilization tickets for employee and eligible family member(s).
Moving Allowance
Resettlement Allowance:
• Single = 200 KD
• Employee +1 = 450 KD
• Family (up to 5 including self) = 700 KD
• This allowance is a onetime, payable in Kuwaiti Dinars once on payroll in Kuwait, recoverable (pro-rate) should employee resign before the end of initial contract (2 years)
Dependent Opportunities
Tuition & Fees Waiver: Faculty members are permitted to enroll 2 dependent children, tuition free at AUS, upon meeting enrollment requirements. Third dependent would be at 50%. If AUS cannot accommodate a child due to space or unavailability of classes, then an alternative tuition fee will be paid.
Comprehensive Medical Insurance (Shared cost may apply in the future). If a female employee is pregnant within the first year of employment with AUS, health insurance is not provided and your contract will not be renewed for the second year.
o Holidays: All locally declared holidays
o Sick Leave: 12 days at 100% pay
o Personal Days: 3 days at 100% pay

Instructional Coach (K-12)

The role of an Instructional Coach is to build educator capacity and their understanding of instructional practices as related to Common Core, Math and Data Driven Instruction. The Instructional Coach is a learner who models continuous improvement, lifelong learning, and goes beyond to ensure student success. Moreover, the Instructional Coach will promote reflection, provide guidance and structure where needed, and focus on strengths, collaboration and common issues of concern. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to educators. The Instructional Coach will demonstrate and model a passion for leadership.

Assists the Teaching and Learning Support Team to foster professional learning communities using data teams, classroom walk-through, peer observation, and action research. Also, assists educators in developing, testing, and implementing research based instructional strategies that will increase student achievement. Use, analyze, and reflect on formative assessment data to improve teaching and learning.

Master degree in Education. Teaching/instructional coaching certification is essential. Prior classroom experience. This position is required to teach at least one course.

Elementary Counselor

We are seeking an Elementary Counselor who will utilize leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs. Implement a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, personal, social, and emotional development for all students. Under the direction of the school Principal, The Elementary Counselor will provide behavioral and educational counseling to individuals and small groups of students, including classroom presentations; assist students in understanding and seeking solutions to social, emotional, or academic problems and issues; serve as a resource pertaining to student behavior management strategies, and other related functions as required. The Assistant Principal will promote the success of all staff and students at the Elementary School by facilitating the development, articulation and implementation of a vision of teaching and learning that supports AUS’ mission and vision.
