American School in Taichung

American School in Taichung is a small non-profit school with about 230 students in the heart of Taiwan for grades 1 to 12. We are accredited by WASC and follow a standard American curriculum based on the Common Core and Washington state standards. We have a strong AP program in the high school and an extensive ESOL program.

The school is tucked away in the base of the hills in the Dakeng Scenic Area. Teachers live on the edge of the city. They can live the city life; they can live the outdoor life. The weather is phenomenal. Hiking, biking, and camping are regular activities in our area. There are lots and lots of food options. Convenience stores are really convenient and the medical care is mind-blowingly good. Foreigners are very welcomed in Taichung.
